Hi there! I am Amélie Cooper and I am the Troupe Trainer of Asteroids Majorettes.
My majorette journey started in 2008 with Capricorn Majorettes of Hoddesdon, and from the moment I walked into my first training session, aged 4, I was hooked. For the first 15 years of my twirling life, I was lucky enough to have amazing trainers and incredible role models who taught me well and encouraged me to reach for the stars.
As a part of Capricorn Majorettes, I competed in the UKFM, which was a National Federation that gave me the opportunity to compete against girls and boys from across the country. With a lot of hard work and the support of my troupe and trainers, I was lucky enough to win 16 national titles with the UKFM as well as working my way to competing at the highest level.
When Capricorn announced they were closing, I decided that I wasn’t done with the sport and so with the help of my mum we decided to start Asteroids Majorettes. I can’t wait to see what this new journey brings!

Hi! I’m Jess and I am the Troupe Leader of Asteroids Majorettes and mum to Amélie.
I too twirled with the UKFM but admittedly I hung up my baton and cougars many years ago. I never thought I would be lucky enough to have not one but two daughters that took up and excelled in the sport I love. I was happy to be a proud supporting mum on the sidelines for 15 years but now I am thrilled to support Amélie starting the next step in her twirling adventure.
Whilst my twirling CV is not as impressive as either of my daughters, I can still pull off a few moves from my championship twirler days. I was a UKFM judge and I am keen to promote the art of twirling to the next generation of twirlers under the MTU (Majorette and Twirling Union). Majorettes is a wonderful sport that will challenge you both physically and technically whilst teaching teamwork, individuality, hard work and resilience all whilst having lots of fun and making new friends.
